Mr. Fred Weasley -- it would be of great pleasure to me to have quite a worthy opponent with which to practice my wizardry skills! I beseech you -- designate a time and a location for us to go about things, and I should most like to test my prowess against you!
...and now, to more pressing business.
I don't understand the muggle practice of dressing in odd sort of costumes and parading around in them. Then again, I recognise that it is quite foreign because I was never exposed to it. I'm sure to somebody, it makes perfect sense. But to me...not quite.
But, I digress. Right or wrong, it is what it is -- and it would seem that everyone is quite excited for this...Hall-O-Weign Ball, whatever that is. The wizards are quite excited to recognize the end of the season, for sure. But its not marked in dressing in odd clothings and parading like fools.
...or is it, come to think of it?
So I suppose I will need a date, and some sort of costume for this affair. I suppose I could dress as Father...but that would be too easy a target. No, I should like to do something more grand...I should like to be a bigger person for my actions.
I should like to be a true anomally of wizarding culture.
But who? I suppose I'll have to do some research to figure that one out.
All in good time, my friends. All in good time.

I've found that this time is when life starts to calm down. The initial shock of returning is over, and now we're all back at the place we call home, for the most part. This is what I call the "cool-down." The fun ends. Complacency begins. This is no longer a place of wonder and delight. And the impending doom that is winter begins.
If you can't tell, I'm bored out of my mind.
This stir-craziness affects people in different ways. Some think that they can become squids. Some use the time to do destructive pranks. Some just pretend that there's nothing to be worried about, and that everything is a-ok. And those not in the above categories use their time to plot their personal adventures at Hogsmeade.
I, on the other hand, will not let any of the above distractions affect me. Now that I am an mature, adult, I have found that the finer things in life entertain me. A little music, perhaps a fine pipe...
Oh, and we're going to Hogsmeade this weekend.
Anyone interested in burning down the pub? First round's on the family trust! |
